I wanted to install Album Burger in English. How do I change the language in the software?

- Reinstall it. Choose the desired language when loading the installation program. While re-installing, get the most recent version of the software in the section "Product/Download," on the Web Site: http:// www.albumburger.com. There is no need to worry about losing any existing data, it has been saved automatically by Album Burger.

How do I manually recuperate my Album Burger "files" in the installation folder?

- The database containing all information which you defined in Album Burger is contained in the following file if you installed it in the default folder: "C:\Program Files\Album Burger\AlbumBurger.gdb". The images are preserved in the sub-folder "\Images \*.*". The remainder of the contents of the Album Burger's folder is superficial.

If you restore the database manually, you can recreate the folder "\Album Burger" and deposit the file "AlbumBurger.gdb" and the folder "\Images," there. Then, reinstall the software.

I am trying to send an image or a page by e-mail, the program displays the Parameter window and asks the SMTP address. What is a SMTP address?

- SMTP is an acronym which means "Simple Mail Transfer Protocol". It is a server which your Internet access supplier places at your disposal to send electronic mail. Each supplier has its own SMTP server. To know your SMTP address, you must ask your supplier.

It is very important not to give a Hotmail (R), Yahoo (R) or other Web mail service.

I am unable to respect the height and width ratios when I change the size with the mouse. How do I respect its ratios?

- Use the mouse to change the dimensions of an image with its edges but that will depend on your ability to adjust the height and the width visually. The most precise method is to select the image and then use the Menu "Image/Reduce". You will be able to select the desired percentage of reduction. To increase use the Menu "Image/Increase" and choose the desired percentage increase.

The search engine cannot find certain images and, I am certain I have given the right search criteria. What do I have to do?

- The Search Engine cannot find images in protected albums with a password. Since the password is used to establish a protected level, the engine does not have access.

If the album containing the searched for image does not have a password, assure yourself of having the main words, hyphenes, quotation marks, etc., used for the criteria. The images must also contain the basic criteria given. Therefore, when searching, avoid giving to many words.

When I do an update of Album Burger, do I lose my photogragh albums?

- No. The update does not replace or remove any information related to the albums. Only the files dedicated to the right functions of the program are updated.

In addition, please note that if a problem occurs when installing, the update system has a protection to recover the data. Due to an installation problem reboot and reinstall. Otherwise, request assistance in the "Support/Report a problem" on the Web site.

What tools do I use to navigate in a full screen "Display Window"?

- To display the following image, use the space bar. It is also possible to navigate in the following images with the arrows: LEFT or UP for preceding images. RIGHT, DOWN or ENTER for the following images.
It is also possible to use the mouse buttons: LEFT for preceding and RIGHT for the following.

When I integrate a new image, do I have to save the original image file?

- No. Album Burger makes an image file copy in its database. It works independently from the rest of the system. Therefore, you may delete the original file that has been used for its integration in the software without any worry of losing the original file.

Why do I have two sizes of the image displayed in the Image Properties Window?

- In order to keep a superior quality of the photographs, Album Burger preserves the original size of the image and adjusts it according to the dimensions defined by the user on screen. Thus, "physical dimensions" indicate the original (real) size of the image, while the "displayed dimensions" are those adjusted by the user on screen.

Why are the images displayed vertically, when I send a page by e-mail to a friend using a Web server such as Hotmail©, Yahoo© or any other?

- Album Burger uses a method of positioning the images which is not accepted by most Web mail servers. Actually, it is not possible to position texts or images where one wants to on these mail servers. The images are positioned by JavaScript and these servers prevent the functions, making it difficult to properly locate the images on screen. Therefore, Album Burger adapts by making a vertical list of the photographs.

Note: If your friends use a recognized and popular e-mail program, the page will be displayed as it is.

Can I recover an image in an album to export it in another file?

- Yes. You may export an image or a background image by moving the mouse over the image with the right click of the mouse, then by selecting Menu "Image/Export to…" or click Menu "Page/Background/Export".

How can I make a backup copy of my albums?

- There are two ways of making a backup copy. The first and easiest is to export your albums in a BALB (Burger Album) file. You can export by using the menu "Tools/Export an album". Simply select the albums that you wish to export to a file. Please note that the exporting device does not remove or delete anything in the software.

To restore your backup copy, you only have to import the file in Album Burger with the Menu "Tools/Import an album". You must select a BALB file.

The other way is to copy Album Burger's installation folder, which is not as easy for several users. To restore the copy, simply put the directory in its original folder and proceed installing the software. Note that no data will be lost if you install Album Burger on an already existing version.
